Fra Zedde is an artist based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. Fra is trained as a guitarist, drummer, and sound engineer. His research and interests are centered on the concept of the musical event as a social practice, using DIY methods for organization and creation. This commitment started with playing and organizing concerts and expanded to various creative elements, including hacking, circuit bending, augmented instruments, and interactive installations.
Fra mostly works as a performing artist and teacher, makes noise music under the stage name of Tonto, and produces electronic music as Tacet Tacet Tacet. Occasionally teaches drums and circuit bending
Fra is one of the founders and organizers of the Discomfort Dispatch concert series, an initiative that showcases electronic and free improvised music festivals
Since 2011, Fra has actively participated in over 20 projects or bands, released 10 solo albums, contributed to over 30 records, and held about 600 concerts across 19 different countries. Fra's music has been released by more than 20 labels, including Midira, Artetetra, Bloody Sound, Attenuation Circuit, and Econore.
In addition to an extensive live performance portfolio, Fra undertakes diverse works such as composition of soundtracks, facilitation of workshops, creation of machines and instruments, development of software.
